World Mental Health Day stalls at Sudbury market. Matt Webb and Julie Revett from Richmond Fellowship with South Suffolk MP James Cartlidge

Sudbury VASP - a group of charities in the town - last week manned stalls at Sudbury market to promote the support they can offer to people suffering from mental health conditions.

The stalls were part of World Mental Health Day.Richmond Fellowship and The Befriending Scheme were two of the charities there, with the issues of mental health discussed with South Suffolk MP James Cartlidge and Sudbury mayor Sue Ayres who visited the stalls. Matt Webb, community link worker at Richmond Fellowship said: “We had a lot of interest and a lot more people are aware of the services available in Sudbury and surrounding villages.

“Coming out and talking to people is the best form of out reach.”

Mr Cartlidge said: “I was very pleased to join the VASP team last week. They are doing fantastic work to support some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community and I would like to thank them wholeheartedly for their continued dedication.”

Backing South Suffolk Business

I consider backing local businesses to be one of the most important roles that I have as South Suffolk’s MP. These businesses are at the heart of our local economy, remain essential to our communities and, crucially, provide jobs. South Suffolk is host to a large amount of fantastic businesses and I am committed to supporting all of them by campaigning to ensure that they are given the optimal environment in which to prosper.
