On Saturday 12th September James Cartlidge MP and County Councillor Mary Evans visited the firestation in Clare to thank the firefighters for their role in containing the fire in Sudbury on Sunday 6th September. The fire required the assistance of nearly 100 firefighters and saw teams from across Suffolk and Essex attend the scene. Mr Cartlidge stated that he was "incredibly grateful for the bravery and efficiency of all of the firefighters who came to protect the town and it's residents".
