James Cartlidge MP

I organised the Employment & Skills Fair to link local residents with the brilliant employment and training opportunities in our area. I have always been passionate about the impact that high-quality employment can have on my constituent's lives, and I hope that you have found the Fair useful.

In addition to local opportunities, you may be interested in working in the Houses of Parliament or in the Civil Service.

Working for an MP:

Working for an MP in the House of Commons can be a very rewarding career opportunity. Staff can work in a paid capacity, as an intern, or as a volunteer. If you are looking for a job with an MP or in other areas of political activity, please see the link below.

Civil Service:

The Civil Service is divided into departments, which deal with areas such as education, health and defence. Most departments have their own agencies dealing with specialist subjects. Whatever your passion – from the environment to promoting the UK's interests overseas, welfare & the economy to keeping our country safe, there’s a department or agency to match.

UK Parliament:

Working at Parliament is a dynamic and rewarding career, with staff supporting and helping improve the most important democratic institution in the UK.

Work Experience:
