Visiting Hadleigh sluice gates October 2025; October 2024
Following the flooding roundtable that I held in Hadleigh in January 2025, the Environment Agency agreed to improve the winding mechanisms on the sluice gates to enhance safety. Now that these improvements have been made, the Environment Agency have assured me that the gates will be opened when a flood alert or warning is issued and closed once it has been lifted.
